lost dog central

last night for the second time this month lost loose dogs have wandered up to our house. there were 2 didn't bark just wandered the driveway smelling our dogs. hubby went outside to see if they had id tags. both did. last time it was a lost dog hotline that called the missing owners. last night it was the owners themselves. they were extremely relieved that we found the dogs and called them. they had been searching for 6 hours and the dogs had decided to go for a nice long walk. they had gone about 6 miles from home. hubby and i waited in the drive until the owners arrived to get the dogs they were so happy and relieved that they were ok and safe. now they just had to get them home and pull off ticks and burrs. between stay cats and lost dogs it has been non stop lately.

the lone boy cat in a house full of female animals. i think hubby just wanted to up his numbers since he was the lone guy with all females. now he has a buddy another male who is surviving in a house full of women. other than locking leo up when everyone else eats he is fitting in fine no fights and lots of chasing an cat wrestling. he loves toys with a bell and has gained weight since his arrival. looks like he is a permenent part of the family. wecome to the zoo

oh my god how did i end up with 4 cats

OMG I am becoming the cat lady. somebody help me. hubby found a cat running around near his work. since work is right off the turnpike it is not a good place for a cat to be running around. he talked me into bringing him home until he is claimed or someone takes him. looks more like he is a permanant part of the family now. jack ignores him no suprise there, winnie loves him and follows him around, tigger and chickie were not happy at first but he is so laid back he knows chickie rules the house and tigger is the aloof one. gracie just ignores him. now if we can just convince him he no longer needs to eat any and all food he sees we will be happy. in other news, well there isn't much. we have been trying for a baby but no luck and last month we didn't even try since we were both feeling horrible with a wicked cold. my work is the same. still looking for another job and hoping when the election is over things will get better. the fall/ thanksgiving/ christmas baking frenzy has begun again. this year i am hoping i actually have some help. this may happen since my niece loves to bake and her mom now lives 5 minutes from me. so M is close by every other weekend and wants to come help.

wow my cute sweet little niece. my little buddy is 14. ok what happened how did she get this old. i am amzaed at the sweet funny girl she is and the wonderful woman she is becoming.

in other news no baby yet just have not been able to get the timing right. the perils of an irregular cycle. oh well we have started talking about what we want to do if a baby is not going to happen. we are not quite ready to move on maybe in the spring or summer but we have been talking about the next step we want to take. good thing we both want to move on the same way and just need to decide how and when to move forward.

for now we are trying to pay off credit cards and stay warm. have i mentioned i hate the cold and winter and snow. although this has been one of the better winters so far not to cold just a bit of snow that even comes on the weekends when i am off and i am hoping it will continue.

not much else for now animals are fine chickie is in love with the sink and running water and the dish sponge tigger is thin and sleek from playing and chasing chickie, jack now comes upstairs to the kitchen for food and has started slowly exploring the upstairs, winnie and gracie are their usual doggie selves begging and licking and playing and snuggling and kiwi is getting lots of exercise in her cage defending it from chickie.

2012

so... hi ! been a while. not much is going on lately. baking got done early same with shopping. holidays are over and now... well not much. hubby and i still hardly see each other. some days it is only 30 minutes in the morning and 30 before bed but we try to talk and share what is going on and well trying to make a baby. which while fun is frustrating if you work different schedules and have to plan everything.
the furry family is doing well. tigger has a playmate and when there is nothing on TV at least we have catertainment. they wrestle and chase and teach each other how to annoy the dogs and the bird. kiwi does not get out as much since we need to be extra aware of chickie she is fascinated with the bird and teases her and stalks her when she is out. chickie's other new things for 2012 are playing in water and trying to go outside. she even got out last night and winnie chased her to the fence and then into the yard before my hubby caught her and brought her back inside. oh well never a dull moment that is for sure.

SO HOW ARE THE 2 HUMANS IN THE HOUSE OF ANIMALS??

we are good. it seems that hubby will be off on wed and thursday all the time and i am off sat and sunday. so we just try to spend as much time as we can together when we are at home in the evenings. i miss having a whole day with him but he is working so i will just deal. the good thing is that now that he is working we are trying for a baby again. at this point we will try for a bit and then decide what step to take from there.
i am gearing up for the fall and christmas baking and christmas shopping. yes i am one of those people who shops early. i have 2 very good reasons for this 1 is that i worked retail for 20 years and never had time to shop after thanksgiving so it is now habit and 2 i hate the mall at christmas. there are too many angry, rotten, tired and nasty people who just make everyone around them miserable to enjoy shopping after thanksgiving. plus i get to spend my weekends happily baking in my pj's while everyone else fights traffic and crowds. after thanksgiving if i need to buy it i better be able to find it online or it doesn't happen.

chickie chickie baby

she is such a handful. she eats everyone's food including mine if we allow her and gets away with it. it is great to be the baby in my house i guess. she has already won over jack and tigger. chickie and tigger chase each other through the house and wrestle at least until tigger has to put chickie in her place since she doesn't understand time out yet. tigger though is thrilled with having a playmate that will run and play with her without pinning her to the floor. jack who has had kittens before mothers chickie and guards her while she is eating so tigger doesn't steall her food it is to cute. both dogs are even good with her but get a bit to aggressive once and a while but mostly because chickie is so bold.
